50% of Commuting Traffic in Copenhagen to Be by Bike by 2015
3 weeks ago
Copenhagen plans to lower its CO2 emissions by 80,000 tons by 2015 and a major part of this strategy involves promoting cycling so that 50% of commuting traffic in Copenhagen is done by bike by 2015. The city already has 350 km of bicycle trails and encourages cycling. 40 km of new trails have been created with a further 70 km under development. The green bicycle tracks separate bicycles from car traffic and make it safer and easier for cyclists to get around. Source: Discover Denmark
