Citizens, NGOs, students, cities, organisations, and politicians – anyone can join. Your voice has the power to change the future our planet!

The City of Copenhagen has created the World Climate Community in the event of the UN climate conference COP15. The aim is to bring people, ideas, opinions and visions from all over the world together.

How can I use the World Climate Community?
  • Promote your organisation and its projects
  • Tell the world about your ideas
  • Debate with users from around the world
  • Make a petition for your cause, or something completely different
  • When you create a group – you can choose to create your own internet address like: www.worldclimatecommunity.com/adifferentclimate
  • Citizens, NGOs, students, cities, organisations, and politicians – anyone can join!

The World Climate Community has been developed together with Danish NGOs and organisations, private sponsors and other contributors. All their efforts and support are greatly appreciated.

History
The World Climate Community is the idea of Mr. Klaus Bondam, Technical and Environmental Mayor of the City of Copenhagen. In December 7th.-18th. Copenhagen will be the host city of the UNFCCC climate conference, COP15. Hopefully, their efforts will give us all a new, ambitious and strong climate agreement to replace the Kyoto Protocol from 1997. Last year’s COP14 in Poznan, Poland and COP13 in Bali in 2006 laid out the cornerstones for the Roadmap to Copenhagen.

Want we aim to do
At this year’s conference NGOs, grassroots and politicians will come together to fight climate change and debate issues such as; sustainable environment, reduction of CO2 emissions, legislation for pollution, protection of the rain forest, the ice caps, mitigation of the consequences of rising sea levels, extreme weather, deforestation, global warming and the green house effect! Environmental policy is the word. Action is the way forward!

Collaboration
We, the City of Copenhagen, are collaborating with a wide range of NGOs, grassroots and other interest groups and private organisations.

Groups
This site is not solely intended for all our official partners, but any organisation or private individual is welcome from the World Wide Foundation (WFF), Greenpeace, ICLEI, UNEP, the UN and to the European Commission, Microsoft or citizens of New Delhi. The UN Climate Talks are extremely important and this online community is for all those concerned with sustainability in urban development as well as environmental policy towards agriculture and dealing responsibly with 3rd world countries’ industrialisation.
