Fight Climate Change
The "fightclimatechange" campaign of the Directorate-General for the Environment of the European Commission aims to raise awareness about the importance of taking individual action for climate protection and to increase the pressure on national governments to take a step forward and cut down CO2 emissions by coming to a new global agreement in Copenhagen.Under the slogan “Let your voice be heard. Governments need to act now. Fight climate change” everyone is encouraged to leave a message on the website www.fightclimatechange.eu powered by the World Climate Community. 27 messages will be handed over officially to the EU negotiators going to the UN conference on climate change in Copenhagen in December 2009.
Metro
The Copenhagen Metro Company, Metroselskabet I/S, is responsible for operating and maintaining of the Copenhagen Metro, as well as the design- and construction of the city's new circle line - Cityringen in Danish - which is scheduled to open in 2018. The Copenhagen Metro has two lines which run from suburban Vanløse to both Vestamager and Copenhagen Airport, both situated on the island of Amager. The Metro trains are driverless, but there are staff on board to assist customers. The Metro trains run all night throughout the week.

British Council
Climate Security is one of the three main aims of the British Council. Its outcomes are to:
  • Increase understanding of the case for tackling climate change.
  • Increase support for the achievement and implementation of international agreements that address the threats of climate change.
  • Strengthen relationships and networks which lead to action on climate change mitigation and adaptation.

New and unique climate site illustrates for the first time in 2D how climate change affects you, your city and your home - and what you can do to protect the global environment

Will I get water in the basement? Or how much will it rain in my town in 2020? These and many other questions can citizens in the area of Greater Copenhagen get answers to by referring to the MapMyClimate. MapMyClimate - a new and unique site built around the GoogleEarth concept – allows the users to move from one part of the town to another and participate in a virtual forum of environmental scenarios. The site shows the effects of each person’s climate behavior and stimulates to find out how we can implement green habits into everyday life. MapMyClimate is a result of collaboration between a number of Danish institutions and companies, who share a vision of making climate matter understandable and relevant, using the best data and the latest communication tools.

Demotix was founded with two principles at its heart - the freedom of speech and the freedom to know. Its objective is nothing if not ambitious - to rescue journalism and promote free expression by connecting independent journalists with the traditional media.

Demotix now has over 9,700 members, in 110 countries around the world from Afghanistan to Zambia.

From December 7th to 19th, we'll be posting up to 10 videos a day, plus a live show every evening covering the essential topics and developments of the day. You'll be able to experience the atmosphere and the inside stories as well as getting breaking news, expert analysis and commentary.

We aim to bring the global climate deal to life for you, even if you can't actually be in Copenhagen.
